Hollywood had his plates full last Christmas when they returned shoddy gifts like The perfect Holiday, Alvin and the Chipmunks and Fred Claus. Yet we can count upon that one film which is also a wonderful story. This one from Marc Foraster stands out on the top of the Christmas tree like a star. This is based on Khaled Haosseini’s novel, a bestseller, The Kite Runner. March Forster of the Monster’s Bll and the Stranger than fiction fame has worked on this film to turn it into a masterpiece like the book itself.

The Kite Runner is a story of friendship between Amir and one of his father’s servants, Rahim. The very talented Homayoun Ershadi; plays the role of Amir’s Baba, his father.

There is the annual kite competition being held and there is wonderful cinematography at this kite competition. In fact, it is more than a movie, it is a living dream. It is a moving film which is very poignant. If you really want to watch a film The Kite Runner is a beaker full of red wine which would tug at the strings of your heart and make you think of your childhood. There are some unwept tears hiding behind the scenes and the words spoken, some unfelt emotions that lie deep within each reel, for you to discover.
